This type of elder law focuses on the services that seniors often use to live safely when they cannot take care of themselves.  These include nursing homes or assisted living facilities and long-term health insurance, along with the means by which they get these benefits. (MediCal / Medicaid for example).

Financial Elder Abuse & Civil Act Laws
This type of elder law focuses on recovering assets that have been wrongfully taken from seniors and include filing civil actions seeking recovery of the asset from the wrongdoer and double damages and attorney fees for “bad faith” when applicable.  Cal Probate Code Section 859 (Keating (2021) 68 Cal. App 5th 1115.)
